Commencement of Command and Staff Course-29

Vice Chief of Army Staff Lieutenant General Bal Krishna Karki inaugurated the 29th Command and Staff Course amid the Opening Ceremony organized at Army Command and Staff College, Shivapuri on 18th April (05 Baisakh 2079). 

On the occasion, Lieutenant General Karki congratulated the student officers for being selected for the course and conveyed best wishes for successful completion of the course. He highlighted the significance of the course for the student officers in preparing themselves for their future assignments in the ever challenging security environment. The Chief Guest also instructed the participants to abide the COVID protocol during the conduct of the course. In a welcome speech preceding, the opening address by the chief guest, Maj Gen Santosh Kumar Dhakal, Commandant of the Army Command and Staff College thanked all dignitaries and guests for gracing the event with their valuable presence. He also made specific highlights on the expectations the college from a fresh lot of student officers yearning to earn themselves a PSC title.

This year, attending the course, are 92 student officers; of which, 80 officers are from the Nepali Army, Three from other security agencies (one each from Nepal Police, Armed Police Force and National investigation Department) and nine from friendly foreign countries; namely: Bangladesh,India, Kenya, Maldives,  Nigeria, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, United Kingdom & USA. 

Also present on the occasion were DGMT Maj Gen Sitaram Khadka, General officers, representatives from Ministry of Defence and other security agencies, defence attaché from friendly countries, Directing Staffs and Faculty Members. 

The course is being conducted following all the safety measures and maintaining social distancing parameters.
