"Conclusion of the SN 7 Advanced Course on National Security"

The course, organised at Army Command and Staff College with the objective of providing information on various aspects of national, regional and international security, exchanging knowledge and facilitating works of coordination amongst the related bodies in the formulation of the national security strategy and defence policy and implementation of the national security policy, dealt with matters relating to the country's geo-politics and foreign policy, national security, Civil-Military relations, use of collective efforts for humanitarian assistance during the time of disaster as major agendas of the training.

Chief of the Army Staff Gen Prabhu Ram Sharma, Guest of Honor of the ceremony, also addressed the ceremony where he mentioned National Security, as a sensitive and profound issue, is the concern and responsibility of all-political, diplomatic, and educational circles, including the mass and have an equal role to play for proper management of emerging multidimensional security threats. He further focused, “Climate change and COVID-19 pandemic have exposed whole security challenges, including the challenges for human security to the world.”

The CoAS further stated, “The scope of security is widening more, and in this context, citizens and all security mechanisms should have a common understanding on the matter of national security.”

Twenty-Eight high ranking officials from the various ministers of the Federal Government, the Tribhuvan University, all the three security bodies and media houses attended the course which is expected to be helpful in understanding various challenges to National Security and its present situation and in determining the security strategy.
